Once again Red has written something that makes me want to smile AND kick myself at the same time lol! This note is so on point, most of us are NOT fit. I’m just now getting myself back into shape (at the age of 26) & I must admit that I do worry about what others would think about me if I went back to jumping rope in the middle of the street or doing cartwheels and running summersaults in the backyard? I’m not overweight but I am still guilty of being self conscious. It’s so true, 98% of the population ARE sitting on the couch with a remote, or in front of the computer all day (overweight or not). It’s time to stop being average & mediocre. It’s time to set an example and become apart of the two percenters-financially and physically! Thank you for the motivation!

This is so true… I have been working out for over ten years, and I know for a fact that there is such a strong physical component to overall happiness and balance in life. I notice a distinct difference in the way I feel and my emotional state on days that i have worked out vs. days I have not. And I can also say from personal experience, that the longer its been since you HAVE done something active, the harder it is to get back to it. That’s why I believe its so important to both create a routine you can stick to, and to do activities that you find enjoyable. If someone hates lifting weights, then a strict gym routine is just not a sustainable lifestyle choice. Discover what you love to do, whether that’s a sport, dancing, joining a boxing gym, running, swimming, etc… and make it a regular part of your week.

    J. – thanks for posting this, what a great way to look at fitness, and quite a refreshing change from the typical diet/weight loss dialogue we are all so sick of hearing!
